Orlando G. SWANAY, son of William and Eliza Rouse Swanay was
born Sept 11, 1882 at Galena, Illinois and was married to Ethel
Hostetler of Williams, Iowa Nov 29, 1905, and departed this life,
April 26, 1955 at 10;20 a.m. He was a faithful member of the
Waveland Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, and four
daughters, Mrs. Naomi Moser, Waveland; Mrs. Thelma Harder of
Hammond; Mrs. Irme Harder of Cedar Lake; Mrs. Wilma Spencer of
Russellville; one brother, Leslie of Crawfordsville; 3 sisters,
Mrs. Cora Alter of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Louella Warne of Bernard,
SD; and Blanche Adams, Bellflower, California and 10
grandchildren. He was a lifetime farmer, first in Iowa and then
in his community until his health began to fail in the fall of
1950. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 in
Waveland Methodist Church by his pastor, Rev. JS White. Burial in
Maple Ridge Cemetery.
